Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree......

Today we went Christmas Tree "Shopping". Now our Christmas Tree shopping, isn't going to a lot and deciding which pre-cut tree to buy, it is going to a tree farm, and cutting our own down.

The weather was going to get yucky later today so we decided on our way home from church that we would go out and cut the tree down today.

We left the house around 11:15am, all bundled up and ready to find that prefect tree. Now, you need to remember, that my dad always got these HUGE ROLY POLY kind of trees. So in my mind that is the kind of tree we need to find too!

Larry and I have been cutting our tree since the 1st year we were married. We go to a tree farm in Monroe Michigan, about 25 minutes south of us. This year, though, we decided we would tree a tree farm closer to home. BIG MISTAKE! The trees, not so roly poly......thin and bare. We trudged through that farm for 45 minutes, knowing we would find something.

Here's what we saw:

So we left, thinking we should have gone to farm we always go to Matthes Evergreen Farm http://www.matthesevergreenfarm.com/. As we started off to the farm, it started raining a little, with a snow mixture. I just knew we had fooled around too much at the 1st farm, and now would have to cut a tree down in rain and snow, SIGH!

It didn't take us long to figure out which tree we wanted, there were many to chose from. I was like a kid in a candy shoppe! I found my ROLY POLY trees! We found two trees, one for us and one for our neighbor across the street. We cut the trees down, wellll if truth be told, it was my husband who cut the trees down. While he was doing that, I was taking pictures of a family next to us in front of the tree they picked. You can always tell us scrapbookers!

Here is a few pictures of our tree:

By the time we were done, we were soaking wet! It didn't take us long to get the trees loaded in our car, and back on the road home. The weather had turn for the worse and we were slippin and slidin' all the way. Glad we got home safe and sound....with my ROLY POLY tree!

The tree is in the garage waiting for us to get the decorations out on Thursday and have a tree dressing party. I will post a before and after picture.

So tonight I worked on homework due on Wednesday.......FRUSTRATING! I am really want this class over. After my homework was done, I went to my stamping "cove" and stamped this card as a reminder for today:

All Stampin' Up! Products: The stamp sets used were Snow Swirled and Snow Burst. Cardstock: Whisper White, Baja Breeze and Pacific Point. Heat and Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds and Silver Embossing Powder.

Well, time for me to get ready for work tomorrow and hit the bed. I don't think that Snow Day is coming for me.......have a wonderful rest of the evening!

Sales, Sales and MORE SALES!

So, did you go out yesterday shopping? I just love that fun feeling when finding the deal at the Holidays. I found a couple, can't tell, don't want my "gift receivers" to know.

I love a good sale just like anyone. It makes my gift buying so much "of a game" for me......you never know what those end caps at Target may have marked down! Target had DVD's for $3.88!! Yeah got a few of those for my husbands stocking. Hope he likes "27 Dresses"!
Speaking of sales.........Stampin' Up! is having a WONDERFUL sale until Monday. OK.......here's the PLUG......You can go to my Stampin' Up! website and see all the wonderful bundles that are for sale:

For my friends at work, (I work in a Montessori School) I make a gift pack of 8 "Thank You" cards. I include the postage stamps for them, so they are ready to mail. They seem to like them. They tell me every year they wait for the package.......makes my heart feel good! Yeah, my ego, needs that stroking every now and again!

Here is one that I designed last night.

This card is made with the stamp sets: Hostess set Deer Friends and Thank You Kindly. Ink is Basic Grey, Pacific Point and Baja Breeze. Cardstock is Whispering White, Pacific Point and Baja Breeze. I also used the Cuttlebug embossing Snowflakes folder for the texture look!
Well, off to help my husband put up the Gazzillion Outdoor Lights....that his "wife" loves to see up every Christmas! Just hope that they all work, don't you hate trying to find that one burnt out light????
Hopefully we will be able to cut down our Christmas Tree tomorrow......they are calling for 4-6 inches of snow tomorrow.....maybe no school on Monday??????

Who Am I?

I am many things........I am a Wife, a Daughter, a Sister, a Aunt, a God Mother, a Friend, a Catholic, a Girl Scout, and RUBBER STAMPER!

I became a rubber stamper by accident. Don't we all? I was talked into going to a Stampin' Up! demonstration 5 years ago. Jeez......I thought, how the heck to I get out of this? I didn't of course, went and had a FABULOUS TIME! The demonstrator, Shari Dudek, gave such an awesome and exciting presentation, that I came home from that workshop and told my husband "I want to become a demonstrator too." He gave me the "OK give it the 24 hour rule". In our house, we have an agreement, that when we decide to do something "major" we give ourselves 24 hours to think about it and so we don't make a rash decision. I think, he thought, I was going to say forget it.......WRONGO! I signed up the next week under Shari and for the last 5 years have had a great time promoting Stampin' Up!

So, yesterday I told you I was "stamping" in the basement.....here is the card I came up with:

I can't seem to figure out my camera, to why I am getting a blurred image
Not so bad, huh?
Supplies: Big On Christmas, Whisper White Cardstock, Dazzling Diamonds, 2 way Glue Pen and Prismacolor Colored Pencils.

This morning I was with 5 friends at the Mid-Night Madness sale at the Kensington Outlet, in Howell Michigan. I got some shopping done....for me! Had a great time, got home at 5:30a and spent the rest of the day just vegging. I plan on getting more Christmas Cards done tonight, but then who knows what may be on TV!

Have a great rest of the day!

I did it!!!

WHEW!!! Can you believe I jumped on board and did it? It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. In my head, I was sure that I would never ever be able to handle this. PHFFFTTT!!! I did it!!! I created a blog!!?!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT????? I said I would have one, though I think I did say I would have it my October 31st......yeah I always run a "little" late.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I am truly thankful for my family, friends and all that I have. Here, in Michigan, times are tough and I so appreciate all that I have.

I did a little stamping today and yesterday, but mainly....sat on the couch and watched endless mindless T.V. I was suppose to be working on our Christmas Cards.......shhhhh Larry thinks I was really busy in the basement!

Here is what I stamped, punched and assembled in honor of today:

Why yes, that is a York Peppermint Patty in the middle. I used Stampin' Up! punches and cardstock to create this guy.

Well I am off to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family and then off to Michael's at 6p tonight for their sale.....like i need more Cricut Cartridges!

Happy Thanksgiving!
