Well I am a Harry Potter geek. Yes I have read all the books, and have seen all but one of the movies. And Yes, we always go to the midnight showing to see it first. And when I say "we" it's not my husband and I , it's my God-daughter, her mom and sister. It is always a fun evening.
However, when we first started doing this, we could arrive at the theatre at 10:30p and be in the front of the line. Not so much now! We arrived at 7:55p for a 12:02a showing. C R A Z Y~I know! So many people dressed in costumes, including my God-daughter. (I posted the picture to my facebook page and can't get it on her :0( ). Some of them were totally amazing.
The theatre gave out "Red Bull" for the movie. Have you ever been to a movie, that that the antipaction is building??? OK now think about that, with the "Red Bull" added in. Some hyped up teenagers and adults! My friend and I were talking....what were they thinking? They should have given out pop instead!!
I also saw "Horrible Bosses" and have to say I haven't laughed that hard in YEARS!! If you get a chance you have to go and see it. And I think it is better to go with some co-workers......just sayin'
I am doing 2 work studies in the next two weeks and am really excited about it. I will be "shadowing" at Hour Magazine in Royal Oak (thanks to my friend Wendee) and at Oakwood Hospital Public Affairs office (thanks to my friend Mary). My portfolio class is going well and it's kind of fun being the only student. Spent 3 hours with my instructor last week. I am "branding" myself and it has been such an enlightening experience!
This weekend is a catch up weekend. I need to get some stuff done around here that I have been putting off. Some errands and some cleaning BLAH!
And now it's back to the grind, getting homework finished, a dog walked and dishes done. However, Harry I will be thinking about you.........Thanks for all the "get away
time you gave me!

Summer Time
Hello!
So I was just thinking about my summer. I was thinking on how fast it is flying by and all of my BIG plans are running out of time!!
I am full swing into my summer class and my internship. I have to say I wasn't so excited about either. I was more nervious than anything else! Boy, have I proved myself wrong! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them both!!
I am doing my inernship for Camps Connect. This group is a the CYO Camps and St. Vincent dePaul Camps working together to run the camps. They share resources; staff and buildings.
They use fundraising as a portion of their budget. They have a Haolloween Fright Fest in October of 2011. I was assigned to redesign the flyer and have to say I did a good job!

Hopefully, you'll want to take family and friends out for a SCARY evening!
I wanted to hit Salt Lake City this year for the Stampin' Up! Convention, but it wasn't in the "cards" this year. Well, actually not the "cards", more like the bank account! I hope my friends who are going have a blast and I look forward to hearing about all the new good stuff coming through!
Well, I am off to make dinner and to work on my new Stampin' Up! catalog packages. Been kind of busy getting other stuff done. I want these to be out in the mail tomorrow!

Where Oh Where Have I Been???
Oh I know how awful I have been for not blogging! I am so sorry. Life sometimes just throws me for a loop!!

Hillary and Humphrey
We have had a lot going on. In January, we had to put Hillary to sleep. She got sick and within a week we had to put her to sleep. We found out she had Cancer. That was one of the hardest days (or so I thought) that I have lived, until May when we had to put our other dog Humphrey to sleep. Humphrey had tumors and took a dive for the worse. 4 months to the day of putting Hillary down, and on his 13th Birthday we had to put him to sleep. Now that was awful......not so much that he was out of pain, but for the pain I had in my heart. You see, that stupid dog was my companion and buddy. He was my protector and confidont. Crazy! I know, that dogs could do that to you. Each day I think about those two, and just hope that they are running and playing in heaven together.
When we put Hillary to sleep, we noticed that Humphrey was lonely, just not himself, so we started "shopping" around for a new dog. We knew we wanted a puppy (oh, how I had forgotten how much work they were!) and found "Madison". Now, knowing how my husband works, I knew it would take a while for him to warm up to the thought.....and it did. I had been checking Petfinder (http://www.petfinder.com/) . My friend Carol found "Madison" so I inquired and she was still available. We set up an appointment to meet her. The day of the appointment, my husband said don't get attached "just in case". REALLY? REALLY? Well, let's just say, it wasn't me who got smitten right away! We adopted her and brought her home the same day. Now, while driving to my parents, (gotta show off the new fur-grandbaby) we had tochange her name. Not in the "H" family. Larry came upon the name "Holly" "Holly Madison" and I joking laughed when we got a new boy dog, would he name it "Heff". So Holly Madison is now her name and she is loving it here! She is a typical puppy and we are now living through her puppy chewing and digging phase UGH!!!
I did do something fun yesterday, I was part of a FLASH MOB! I know, COOL! My friend Laura works for BCBS of Michigan they were planning a flash mob for the Detroit River Days this weekend. So she asked a few of us if we wanted to do this and I was sure. I then started thinking about it and got nervous. I pratriced with the video and was ready to performance time. It was C R A Z Y! It was so much fun. I had it listed on my "bucket list" and now I can truthly cross it off! Here is the link for the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcXldLmFQw0
I promise now that I am off for the summer I promise to post a little more, no really I do!

Two Days in a row???
REALLY?? I know, had a few minutes and thought I would post.
First day back after two weeks off. Wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. I only have 34 more work days until Winter Break. I think part of my "problem" is that it gets dark so early that I get that closed in feeling. Crazy, I know!
I promised to post a card today, so here you go:
This is the card I made my cousin for his wedding. I love the colors. Seems I am liking grays, browns and blues again.I am planning on doing some stamping this week. I seem to have the "itch" to do so!
Had dinner tonight with friends and family. It always make my heart feel good when I hang out with them. We exchanges Christmas presents, had a Spaghetti Dinner and finished up some Christmas goodies. Still have some hershey candy cane kisses left...maybe they will find their way into my freezer for my summertime cravings!
Want to leave you with this thought:
"New opportunities are often things you haven't noticed the first time around."

Food for thought.......until we meet again................

Happy New Year
Hello!!

I know awful blogger. Been putting all my energy towards my school work instead of the fun stuff!! I am almost done and am excited to say I only have 7 more classes after the Winter Term. I am hoping to graduate in the Fall of 2011. Keeping my fingers crossed!
So what have I been up to?? Hmm.....celebrated 12 years of Marriage, went to Florida, had an awesome summer of swimming, stamped a little and scrapped a little....worked a lot!
Held a few classes last year, nothing like I had in previous year, but that to will change in a few months. I have, co-chaired twp scrapbook weekends for St. Vincent dePaul and the CYO camps. Get weekend to get some uninterrupted time to work on your books. Our next weekend is in April 7-9, 2011. If interested you can click on this link for info: www.cyodetroit.org/programs/CampingServices/tabid/92/default.aspx It has the flyer up from 2010, prices haven't changed so the form can be used.
I am also hosting a St. Vincent dePaul Day Crop fundraiser on January 15, 2011 at St. Maurice Church in Livonia. If interested, email me and I will send you the info!
